Tips from the Partnership: Engaging with the Road Map

Julie White of Jefferson-Lewis-Hamilton-Herkimer-Oneida BOCES recently shared a presentation that turns the Next Generation Standards road map into a reflective activity, with each goal as a talking point.

White explained that this Road Map activity can be used with administrator or teacher groups, and also in districts. Printing out the reflection questions can give small groups the chance to review and discuss before pulling everyone back together for a whole-group reflection.

“The talking points create great discussions that lead to goal-setting and future work to ensure that the district is able to address all points on the road map,” White explained, adding, “This is a great, non-threatening way to move the conversation in the right direction.”
